Listener Spotlight

K-BAR is nothing without its listeners. These are two of them.

Gary, grinning in a navy cap and fleece, holds a cordless phone to his ear and gives a thumbs-up. A large gray whale lies on the kitchen floor behind him.

Request Line Regular · Line One

Gary

Gary has called the K-BAR Request Line every time it has been open, and he is already holding on line one for the next one. Gary has never actually requested a song. Gary would like everyone to know that Finn says hi.

Brenda, smiling with her eyes closed, holds a terracotta pot with a small pepper plant bearing one red chili pepper.

First-Time Caller · Line Two

Brenda (and Gus)

Brenda called the K-BAR Request Line for the first time on Episode 3 to request a song for her pet, Gus, who is a chili pepper. Gus is very small, very red, and a little hot most days. He listens to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who Brenda says are his cousins. Brenda and Gus are now K-BAR's fastest-growing listener segment.
