Brenda and Gus Named K-BAR's Fastest-Growing Listener Segment

First-time caller and her pet chili pepper account for 100% of new listener growth

FORT WORTH, Texas, October 2026 —

K-BAR 88.3 announced that Brenda and her pet chili pepper, Gus, are the station’s fastest-growing listener segment following Brenda’s debut on the K-BAR Request Line.

Brenda requested a song for Gus, whom she described as “very small and very red,” and specified it be performed by his cousins, the Red Hot Chili Peppers. K-BAR honored the request with “Snow (Hey Oh).”

Gary, who was holding on line one, said that Finn says hi.
