K-BAR News Confirms Song Is About Banks

Following a weeks-long investigation, station rules on long-standing listener claim

FORT WORTH, Texas, October 2026 —

The K-BAR News Team today confirmed that the song “Kids” by MGMT is about Banks, ending a weeks-long investigation that gripped the living room, the kitchen, and the back seat of the car.

The ruling followed a K-BAR Special Report, which included an on-scene search of the listener’s bedroom and testimony from Our Expert. “A kid is a person who is small and likes snacks,” Our Expert said. “Banks is small. Banks likes snacks. That’s what the science says.”

The investigation also determined that because the song’s title ends in an S, it is additionally about Arlo, who declined to comment. Asked about the song’s release predating Banks, a K-BAR correspondent said the band “saw him coming.”

“This is a proud day for K-BAR News,” said Daddy. “We followed the facts, and the facts said: play it again.”

The full Special Report is available on demand in Episode 3.
